We’re thrilled to announce our $11M Series A investment led by Accel, with new investors Shopify Ventures and Operator Partners joining, with continued participation from Y Combinator and Moonfire. We also have some brilliant angels joining the round including Shuo Wang (Co-founder @ Deel), Michael Grinich (CEO @ WorkOS) and more.
Today, companies like Beauty Pie, Hypebeast, Morning Brew, Workday, and hundreds of others rely on Lightdash as their business intelligence platform. Data teams love Lightdash’s powerful development workflows, semantic layer support, and native integration with tools like dbt, which allows them to leverage a single source of truth for all their data.
Data teams want to operate like software teams, but legacy tools haven’t kept up. We’ve brought the best practices from the world of software engineering to analytics to build a workflow that is truly data developer-friendly, allowing data teams to get more leverage and enable more people in their teams to self-serve data.
Usage has grown over 50x over the last two years, with two queries being answered every second on the platform and over 80% of daily active users being non-data team members answering their own data questions.
Our approach enables a true self-serve BI experience in which anybody can explore data through our explorer UI, share that with their teammates, and embed analytics for their customers.
Now, we’re building a whole new way to self-serve data with the launch of our new AI Analyst service, which allows users to chat with their data in natural language and receive curated insights relevant to their work. It’s powered by the same semantic layer used throughout Lightdash, allowing users to get set up in minutes and giving accurate answers out of the box. The AI Analyst is available now to use in Lightdash Cloud.
With our upcoming Data Catalog feature, we’re also making it even more straightforward for users to get started with data, allowing teams to quickly find the relevant metrics and KPIs to their work to start exploring.
You can expect even more integrations and workflows in Lightdash. We want to make it easier than ever to surface insights in all the places your teams need them. We’ve got a packed product roadmap and we're just getting started.
We’re also growing the team! We’re hiring for roles in the US and Europe across Engineering, Marketing, Analytics Engineering and Sales - find our open roles here.
