🚀 Demo week is back! 🚀

Welcome back to Demo Week, where we take a break from our usual programming to celebrate and show off all the work we’ve been up to over the last few months! Before diving into all the fun of demo week, I wanted to use this post to talk a bit about some exciting developments for the company, including funding, the upcoming Coalesce conference and the recent public launch of Lightdash Cloud!

We raised money to keep building the BI tool we’ve always wanted

I won’t talk too much about this as I covered this in more detail in my previous blog post. However, I want to reiterate my thanks to this community for your support as users, early adopters, contributors, advisors and visionaries in what we’re building at Lightdash. The whole team values being able to learn directly from the folks we’re building for and we really appreciate and value the time you take to give us feedback and help us learn more about what you want to see from Lightdash. I’m looking forward to even more of that as we grow - please keep the feedback coming!

Lightdash Cloud is now available to use in Public Beta

The other big news is that Lightdash Cloud is available right now for you to sign up and use. This is an important milestone for the team and our users, as it’s now easier than ever to get started with Lightdash. Pretty much since the day we started Lightdash, folks have asked us for a hosted and managed option, and we’re proud to now open up the beta from our early beta testers to anyone to try out and use themselves.

While it’s in public beta, this means that we’re still building as quickly as ever, and you’ll see major feature releases to the product regularly (For context, we released more than a feature a day over the last 90 days, not including bug fixes!). It also means we rely really heavily on your feedback to ensure we’re improving the product as fast as possible - so for every team that signs up to Lightdash Cloud during the public beta, we’re offering a dedicated private Slack channel with direct access to the Lightdash team. This is not only for us to get your feedback on what we’ve built, but also as data practitioners ourselves, we love to geek out on hard SQL problems together or help you figure out how best to solve your BI issues (free analytics engineering consulting anyone?).

Teams also get a 30-day free trial period of Lightdash Cloud with all the bells and whistles, after which it switches over to a rolling monthly or annual subscription. I’ve previously described our pricing as similar to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system, where the closer the it gets to production, the more the price may increase and we’re rewarding our earliest fans who can take advantage of locking in our public beta pricing rates today :)

You can now also sign up for Lightdash Enterprise, which comes with all the goodness of Lightdash Cloud, but brings additional security with additional SSO options, a dedicated point person on the Lightdash team, improved response SLAs and customisable deployment options.

Let's hang at Coalesce in New Orleans

And finally, a reminder that myself and a bunch of the Lightdash team will be at Coalesce in New Orleans next week and would love to meet - we’ll be at booth #316 in the Activation Hall and we have a bunch of fun treats planned so stop by and see what we’re up to if you’re attending :) You can also sign up for our talk here where we’ll be talking about the past, present and future of the Data Developer!

We have a host of new features and tutorials planned for this week, and I can’t wait to share it all with you! Keep watching your inbox, the Slack community or this blog for our announcements everyday and I hope you enjoy our upcoming content!
